Willkommen in den Konversationsklassen!

German 8B is a 2-unit class designed to offer German language students communicative strategies needed by speakers and listeners in face-to-face interaction: how to express and respond to feelings, opinions, intentions, wishes, and beliefs appropriately; how to agree and disagree; how to ‘take the floor’ and keep it; how to argue for and against something. Although the conversations are based on a variety of cultural topics, the primary focus in on communicative functions practices during individual, pair, or small-group activities. Class discussions are based on textual, film, video, and audio material, as well as on cultural topics suggested by students themselves.
